Was born in Thurso, Scotland. He studied industrial design both at Napier University in Edinburgh and at the Domus Academy in Milan.
He first came to public view in 1989 as the creator of “ageing pens” which were made from a plastic that wears out, changing its colour and form with use.
For many years now, Neil Poulton has been designing a variety of products for international clients, including LaCie and Artemide.
The cooperation with Artemide, for instance, has produced the “Talo” and “Surf” product ranges, which have won many awards.
